1977 |
I began to learn to play the guitar. |
1986 |
Together with Max Dolder I joined my first band Hot Rhythm Combo (Rockabilly). |
1989 |
The singer left the band. In the same year we found a new singer and thus were able to go on performing almost without a break with the new name The Little Green Man and extended style repertoire (Jive, Swing, Rockabilly). In this formation I accompanied for the first time a few songs also with the lap steel guitar. In between I additionally took part in a project called Neil Sanecki & the Debonnaires. |
Further training: During several years I took guitar lessons at the school of Peter Kuhn.
|
1992 |
The singer of The Little Green Man left us. This time, too, we were lucky and quickly found a substitute. This time we changed the name of the band to Hot Stuff (Rockabilly). During 7 years we had very many performances with this band, at home as well as abroad. |
1999 |
The next change was imminent. Together with our longtime drummer the singer formed a new band. Once again Max and I started looking and this time, too, we quickly found 2 new musicians. The new band was called Jerry and the Rockets (Western Swing, Hillbilly, Boogie, Rockabilly). Because of the new music styles I could now play in addition to the guitar also the non-pedal steel guitar. Further training: I also wanted to learn to play this instrument better. Because this was difficult in Switzerland, I travelled to Texas for a month and took lessons with Reece Anderson (former band member of Bob Wills). |
2001 |
I also joined the country band Broken Spoke. This helped me to get more practice on the non-pedal steel guitar. After a short time the band changed their style of music to Cajun and Zydeco and calls itself since then Marc and |
2002 |
is the foundation year of the band Rhythm Train (Hillbilly). Since the formation I play my non-pedal steel guitar here, too. |
Further training: From 2004 - 2005 I attended for 3 semesters the general section at the Jazz School in Lucerne. |
2007 |
The singer of Jerry and the Rockets left us, or rather we parted company with him and began searching again. This time it was more difficult, but the long wait has been worthwhile, as we found a new, motivated, good singer. Since... |
2008 |
we are as The Rockets (Rockabilly) on the road again. |
2008 - |
Since the beginning of this year I also participate with my non-pedal steel guitar in the band Jackalopes (Western Swing, Hillbilly, Rockabilly). In the course of my musical career I played, when all went well, around 80 gigs a year at various occasions, such as concerts on small and big stages, at company celebrations, birthday parties, weddings, etc. Many of these performances took place in Switzerland, but some of them also abroad (e.g. in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, England, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Holland, Belgium and in the USA, or more precisely, in Las Vegas). During all these years I could furthermore accompany several veteran performers, such as e.g. Barbara Pittmann, Sleepy la Beef and Ray Campi. |
